Phil Spencer reveals THIS is the easiest day of the week for moving house

It’s already been revealed that putting your house on the market a certain day of the week will help you successfully sell your home

Analysis by Which? Money suggests properties listed with estate agents at the start of the week can sell more than a month faster than those listed at the weekend. 

But once you sell your house, it’s also good to start thinking about which day of the week is best to best to move on. 

Phil, 47, said this time of year is notorious for being a busy time for movers. 

According to the property expert, most people move on a Friday – prior to the weekend. 

He said: “This requires booking removals far in advance. 

“But the easiest day to move tends to be a Tuesday.” 

The reason is, most people are working and there are fewer reservations, and sometimes companies lower their prices to entice people to move on the days they have less business. 

If you can’t move house on a Tuesday, then Phil advises booking as far in advance as possible. 

For those moving home in the not so distant future, Phil has come up with five top tips help alleviate some of the pressures. 

He said: “The average person moves home over eight times in their life and this is one of the busiest times of year to be doing it. 

“There are some common pitfalls but with a bit of thought and preparation they’re easy to avoid.”

1. Start with rooms like the living area and pack items you’re not going to use on a daily basis. 

2. Pack your valuables in a separate case to keep them safe. 

3. Know exactly where you bed linen is, so when you’re tired after moving you can grab it straight away.
