Peter Kay, the 44-year-old comedian from Farnsworth in Lancashire, has delighted the UK with his comedy for years.
Rising to fame in 1996, he is an award-winning stand-up, comedic actor and writer.
He has won BAFTA TV Award for Best Male Comedy Performance, the BAFTA TV Award for Best Scripted Comedy and the National Television Award for Best Comedy for a recent project Car Share.
He created the Channel 4 sitcom Phoenix Nights, which won the People’s Choice Award at the British Comedy Awards 2002.
Others will remember Kay’s version of (Is This the Way to) Amarillo, which was released to raise money for comic relief.

The comedian released a statement, in which he said: “I really miss (stand-up). I know how lucky I am to be making television series and have really loved these past few years working on Car Share but I miss doing stand-up.
“As terrifying as it is, when it works there’s nothing more fun and exciting.
“Plus, a lot has happened in the last eight years, with Trump, Twitter and my Nan getting her front bush trimmed at the age of 96. I can’t wait to get back up on stage.”
