Peaky Blinders season 4: Oscar-winning actor Adrien Brody joins BBC gangster drama

After the 43-year-old was seen filming in Liverpool last week, the Hollywood star has finally confirmed he will be featuring in the upcoming season.

The New Yorker – who won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in The Pianist – has hopefully perfected his Brummie accent for the new role after he posted a picture of himself on set.

He wrote alongside the image on Twitter: “Uh oh, here’s a sneaky peaky of me being cheeky… very excited to come and play with the immensely talented gang…”

His character on the gangster drama is being kept under wraps, but no doubt many viewers will hope he will get to play the shows next villain.

Season three’s shocking finale saw Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) inform his family that they were all about to be arrested.

In the closing scene, Polly (Helen McCrory), Arthur (Paul Anderson), Michael (Finn Cole) and John (Joe Cole) were all dragged away by police to jail.

Peaky Blinders is expected to return to BBC Two in October.
