The BBC drama has already been commissioned for a fifth season, but with leading star Cillian Murphy – who stars as protagonist Tommy – paving the way as one of the most sought-after actors in the world, it wouldn’t be implausible to see him leave the the gangster series behind.
Thankfully, the 41-year-old Irish thespian has assured he’s in it for the long-haul, but under one condition.
“It’s a privilege to get to play a character like Tommy Shelby and work with Steven Knight, who’s such a great writer,” he said.
“It’s just our job to do his scripts justice and I think we’d all continue as long as the story remains strong.”
“We’re so lucky to be able to attract actors of that calibre and the fact that [Adrien] wants to be in it shows how popular the show is in America,” Cillian added.
“Adrien has this incredible energy that we’ll get to see as the show progresses.”
Peaky Blinders returns to BBC One at 9pm on November 15.
