Patients resorting to ‘DIY dentistry’ as NHS services dwindle

DESPERATE patients are buying dental cement online and using metal nail files on their teeth because they cannot access NHS care, a health watchdog has warned. The majority of practices are not accepting new patients and charities have stepped up to provide free services to those most in need. Dental leaders told the Daily Express the service “faces a slow death” if the new Prime Minister does not reform their NHS contract.
