Overwatch skins: Winston, Mei and Sombra’s new event outfits for Uprising 2018

While we have already seen the new outfits coming for Hanzo, Mei and Sombra, today also saw another reveal made by Blizzard for the returning Uprising 2018 event.

New Overwatch skins for Winston were unveiled tonight on the official Twitter account.

It fits in with the ones already revealed for both Sombra and Doomfist, which are a lot different from the designs used for Mei and Hanzo.

Fans can expect around 60 new cosmetic item to go live tomorrow, with a mix of fresh emotes, sprays and skins being added to the game.

That’s without including all the returning outfits from last year’s Uprising event, which included some fan favourites.

Other events have seen older skins cost 1,000 credits, instead of the usual 3,000 credits for Legendary items.

It should also be noted that other events saw prices set at 750 credits for Epic skins, 225 credits for Rare cosmetics and 75 credits for common items.

And not only will there be a new seasonal Retribution event included that chronicles a Blackwatch mission in Venice, but we’re also set to get a nifty new feature.

Blizzard have now confirmed that a special option is being added to the game on April 10 that will help players to avoid peers they deem a bit too toxic.

Players will soon be able to add players to an in-game list so that they can avoid being paired as teammates again.

It’s been available on the PTR since late March and looks set to make its debut this week on live servers.

Game directer Jeff Kaplan spoke about the feature in a recent developers update, telling fans it was being put in place “when you’re frustrated with a teammate but it’s not necessarily a reportable offensive.”

It appears to be something to use against those you find annoying, rather than offensive.

Those who do use this option a lot may well see delay loading into games, especially if they’re a high-ranking player.

The field starts to thin out for matchmaking when you reach a certain tier, while Blizzard have also confirmed that those who have been avoided a certain amount of times will also see a warning pop up about it.

The game did have the avoid player feature just after launch but it was removed due to Blizzard believing it was being used to filter out the better players.

“As with all of our systems, we’re paying very close attention,” Kaplan said.

“We hope that you enjoy having more control over your experience in Overwatch, and we’re going to continue to bring features to you that let you craft the experience exactly how you want it to be.”

“Travel eight years into the past and join Blackwatch as they seek to capture a high-ranking member of the Talon organization,” reads a Blizzard blog post.

“Fight in the streets of Venice as Genji, Moira, McCree, or Reyes (later known as Reaper) to complete the mission and unlock pieces of the past with over 100 items from last year and 60 new ones—including highlight intros, emotes, sprays, and more.”

The original Uprising event missions which focused on Tracer’s first mission as an Overwatch agent will also be returning this for the limited run.

Fans can also expect the return of the popular Combat Medic Ziegler, Cadet Oxton, Talon and Chief Engineer Lindholm skins.

Returning skins are typically available at a discounted price, so if you’ve got any spare in-game cash, it’s worth waiting until next week to spend it.
