Overwatch patch notes reveal new changes as fans discover major Mercy news

Overwatch news this week has seen new patch notes released by Blizzard.

A new update has been released on the PC platform that looks to solve two bugs currently creating problems in the game.

These include:

  • Fixed a bug that prevented Pharah’s “I am the rocket queen” voice line from playing correctly
  • Fixed a bug that allowed Orisa’s ultimate to charge while her Supercharger was deployed

It should also be noted that these same changes will be rolled into a larger patch for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One at a later date

While not the biggest improvements, fans are expecting to see much larger tweaks launched in the future.

That’s due to Overwatch currently being in PTR, meaning that range of improvements will be eventually rolled out on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Fans already know that major updates are being made to the loot box system, following feedback from fans during the Anniversary event.

This includes Blizzard drastically reducing the amount of duplicates players will receive when opening loot boxes, as well as an increase in the overall amount of credits players will receive from loot boxes.

But one other change has been spotted that weren’t included in any patch notes to date.

According to those testing the game, Mercy can no longer die and hit the Resurrect ultimate from her team’s spawn point.

This change will have widespread effects for teams, although only on maps where spawn points could be exploited to make it impossible to counter Mercy’s power.

More is likely to be revealed by Blizzard in the near future, with more hero balance changes likely in the works.

Overwatch fans are also waiting to find out whether the recent hints of a new hero launch alongside a revamped Summer Games 2017 event will prove correct.
