Outlander season five is going to follow the events of the Diana Gabaldon book The Fiery Cross. While this book contains a number of dreadful events for the main characters, it also holds some good scenarios. Jamie Fraser (played by Sam Heughan) and Claire Fraser (Caitriona Balfe) are lucky enough to see some good times in the fifth book, including two weddings. While there are not currently any engaged couples, or impending proposals, fans have been pondering over whether these weddings could make their way to the TV show.
The cast of Outlander recently made an appearance at New York Comic Con to discuss the show’s upcoming return.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the stars of the show, Caitriona and Sam, teased there may be a wedding after all.
However it is not yet clear who this could be between – and to make matters even more confusing, Sam went on to hint something else would occur between the main couple.
During the interview, when asked about the two weddings in the fifth book, the cast went entirely silent.

“Maybe we renew our vows,” he teased. “I don’t know! Maybe! Who knows?”
The rest of the cast laughed before moving on to discuss other aspects of the show.
If Claire and Jamie do renew their vows, will it be in response to some kind of tragic event, or will the simply be looking to celebrate their marriage once again?
Either way, fans can most likely expect a wedding in the show’s fifth season – and considering Maria teased it, could it actually be between Jocasta and Murtagh (Duncan Lacroix)?
Meanwhile, later in the interview Sam teased the Fraser family will see some hardship in the episodes to come.
First, addressing his relationship with Claire, he explained: “There is still a lot of humour, and a lot of passion.”
Sam went on to discuss the fifth season’s themes, adding: “This whole season, I think, is about the family.
“And about the family sort of needing each other to fight these exterior forces.”
