Outlander viewers have witnessed the residents of the Starz and Amazon Prime Video show go through quite a lot. While Jamie Fraser (played by Sam Heughan) was sexually abused in season one at the hands of “Black Jack” Randall (Tobias Menzies). The unfortunate fate of the Frasers continued into season three, as Brianna Fraser (Sophie Skelton) was also raped, but at the hands of Stephen Bonnet (Edward Speleers).
Brianna’s ordeal caused ripples throughout the show’s storylines that are even still being felt in season five.
Although Brianna seems to be coping well with her trauma at the moment, viewers have seen how she has struggled in the past.
With so much going on in Brianna’s life, it would have been easy to drop the tougher aspects of her storyline as the seasons progress.
But this isn’t something Brianna actor Sophie wanted to do.

Speaking to Gio Journal, he explained: “I’ve been working on the post-production of a TV show I produced/financed and directed last year.
“We hope to have it air this year and it’s been a lot of fun. Also, a book deal, so I’m writing A LOT!”
Addressing the pandemic and how he is coping within lockdown, Sam added: “I’m doing the best I can.
“Trying to stay safe whilst lending my voice and support to charities etc.
“Also want to entertain people and give them something else to think about. Bloodshot [Sam’s latest movie] was released during the pandemic.”
Sam also mused on the affect of the pandemic, and how it has progressed over the past few months.
He added: “I guess no one knew the level and extent of how this would affect us. Hopefully everyone can stay safe and positive at this time. It affects us all.”
