Nova Scotia school teacher denied 18-month parental leave

Lori-Anne Mikkelson of Porters Lake, N.S., hoped to take advantage of 18 months of parental leave after her third son was born, but has learned it is not available to everyone in Nova Scotia. The federal government changed the rules around parental leave last year.
