Nintendo games news: Terrifying handheld application raising Nintendo Switch owner pulses

The Nintendo Switch boasts a series of modes that aren’t available on the rival PS4, Xbox One, or even Mini NES Classic.

While the battery life of handheld mode might not be the best, it still gives fans a chance to play their favourite games while on the move.

And now a slightly new terrifying application of that special handheld mode has been shown off, taking it to its most extreme conclusion.

A new mock ad has been put together for the Nintendo Switch, pushing the limits to even what the Japanese games giant would do.

Russian YouTube channel Юз has created a new video, featuring the Nintendo Switch, bananas and playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on rooftops and even in the sky.

It starts off with two friends playing the NES, before moving onto the new console and taking it where no other consoles can go.

It seems likely that the part involving skydiving didn’t involve actual gameplay running live with Zelda Breath of the Wild, but it’s still a great way to show off what the console can do.

The Short Action Film with the Nintendo Switch was shot in Moscow, Russia by Valera Boluchevsky & Richard Chirkin and could be the one of top unofficial ads for handheld mode.

It follows news earlier this month that old NES cartridges are being used to smuggle in illegal goods to the United States.

But not just any old contraband, apparently 73 spiders had been hidden in old Famicom game cartridges, which were intercepted at the United States-Mexico border.

According to Mexican newspaper La Crónica de Hoy, 73 plastic tubes were found in the haul, all containing arachnid hosts.

The ten cartridges were intercepted at customs in Guadalajara International Airport earlier this week, with the packages heading for Hanover, Maryland.

Apart from the terrible cruelty being done to the spiders during the trip, it may also scare Nintendo Switch owners to think that their own console games include cartridges that may come from further afield then they know.

Fortunately for them, the Nintendo Switch games cartridges are nowhere near the same size as the original NES ones and hopefully there isn’t enough room in the cases either to perform the same trick.

A video of the spiders being uncovered in the Nintendo NES cartridges can be found below, it’s unclear what the authorities plan to do with the smuggled arachnids.

According to the Mexican media, the packages did not have the required documentation and were apparently flagged because of it.
