Neighbours Chloe Brennan (April Rose Pengilly) is set for an untimely shock next week when she finds out she’s pregnant with her first child. But with her deteriorating health condition, will she decide to keep the baby or suffer a heartbreaking loss?
Back in 2019, Chloe was given the devastating news that she has Huntington’s Disease, a hereditary condition which results in the death of brain cells and can cause depression, memory loss and difficulty walking.
Although shocked at the diagnosis and feeling helpless because there is no cure, she’s vowed to live life to the fullest.
Recently, her marriage to Pierce Greyson (Tim Robards) has been less than perfect, and she decides to hold off telling him the news that will change their lives forever.
While they were in discussions about fostering a child, their chances were slashed by Pierce’s son Hendrix (Benny Turland), who wasn’t happy at the thought of another kid joining their family.

While Chloe knows that her husband will be over the moon with the pregnancy news, this only adds to her difficult decision.
As Huntington’s Disease is genetic, she worries about passing the disorder onto their unborn baby.
What will she do?
If she tells Pierce about the baby, it would complicate things if she decides she can’t keep it.
But if she decides to have an abortion without keeping him in the loop, will she be able to live with herself?
Paul Robinson (Stefan Dennis) finds out and spills the big news to Pierce himself, leading to more tension in their marriage as he wonders why she withheld telling him such important news.
Actress April recently told Radio Times what goes through her character’s head when keeping the pregnancy a secret amid battling the disorder.
“For Chloe, she sees it as a death sentence and it’s been extremely difficult for her to come to terms with it and watch her mother deal with it.
“All of that kind of leads her to not immediately tell Pierce.”
