Naga, 45, has been seen hosting BBC Breakfast alongside co-star Charlie Stayt, 58, for some time but their partnership during the course of the coronavirus pandemic has demonstrated to be stronger than ever. The pair have grilled Government ministers over answers to their response to the crisis as well as providing moments of light-hearted entertainment to distract BBC viewers from the hard-hitting news. However, the broadcaster has stated it has been “a year of hell” trying to front the show as well as deal with her own worries about the outside world.
The journalist explained of reporting on more emotive stories coming from the pandemic: “Those remind you of how privileged you are to be able to talk to people.
“I’ve had a couple of moments where I’ve had to compose myself after a particular interview or take a deep breath.”
Addressing her reaction to the global health crisis, the broadcaster added: “First and foremost, I’m so grateful I have a job.”
Going on to explain her own personal connection to those who have lost their jobs, the presenter said she understood the position they were in.
Naga also stipulated of those people she knew, they were struggling with finances as well as the emotional hardship that brings.

With the pandemic not over yet and the Brexit deal completed, the journalist stated she wants to continue bringing some light-relief into viewer’s homes.
“We’re coming out of a year of hell. I want the programme to offer a message of hope, positivity and joy,” Naga explained to Radio Times.
The broadcaster has been one of the many faces of the programme for over a decade now and it seems she isn’t going anywhere just yet.
Fans will be encouraged to hear the presenter will continue to hold her Thursday to Saturday role alongside Charlie for the foreseeable.
Instead, she has been making the most of her time off with husband and broadcast consultant James Haggar at their home in Hertfordshire.
Naga has also been spending some time with her beloved cats and has been sharing pictures of them on her Instagram page.
In view of her 37,800 followers on Christmas Day, the broadcaster was seen stroking one of her pets after enjoying a season feast.
Captioning the 10-second clip, the journalist wrote in a message to fans: “Post food cuddle. Sending Love X.”
