Melania Trump is set to have a statue erected in her honour – but not in the United States of America where she holds an enviable position.
The Slovenian-born former model and wife of Donald Trump is somewhat of an icon in a Bosnian-Serb shoe factory, in a country near her home nation.
Now the factory plans to create a statue of Melania as a tribute to the first lady of the United States.
Marinko Umicevic, director at the shoe factory in the eastern-European town, is hoping to get a life-size statue of Melania outside the Bena factory.
The statue will be made by a sculptor who has also created figurines of Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin. It will be created out gypsum, according to the Sarajevo Times.
A spokesperson for the factory told Newsweek: “We confirm this information with pleasure. Mr. Umicevic is planning to install a statue of Lady Melania Trump in front of our factory, in order to pay tribute to Mrs. Trump.”
“We hope that in future we can expect positive answer and olive branch from U.S.A.”
When the statue is finished it will wear a real bag and shoes from the factory itself.
The director of the factory hopes to curry favour with the American administration on behalf of Serbs.
“We hope that America will stop being the world policeman,” Umicevic told Reuters. “We are hoping a friendship will come in the future from the United States instead of bombs that Serbs got from Bill Clinton.”
This is not the first time the factory has paid tribute to the first lady.
After Melania was criticised for giving a very similar speech to former first lady Michelle Obama, the factory sent her a pair of shoes as a gift.
Serbo-Croation is one of the six languages Melania Trump speaks, as wells as English, her native Slovenian, French, German and Italian.
This man claims to have been a boyfriend of the First Lady in her native Slovenia, long before the model her her husband.
However, Melania denies his claims.

Melania, 47, recently received a faux fur coat from Baywatch star Pamela Anderson, and in return, penned a thank you note with a distinctive signature.
One handwriting expert decided to take the opportunity and see what the former model’s individual writing style reveals about her personality.
Graphology experts can determine more than 5,000 personality traits just from looking at the shape, size, spacing and height of letters in someone’s handwriting.
