Melania Trump, 47, arrived with husband US President Donald Trump, 71, at the Ellipse in President’s Park near the White House in Washington DC on Thursday to take part in the 95th annual National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony.
The lighting ceremony dates back to Christmas Eve 1923, when President Calvin Collidge lit a Christmas tree in front of 3,000 spectators.
Performers at the event include Boys II Bow Ties, Craig Campbell, Jack Wagner, Mannheim Steamroller, The Beach Boys and the U.S. Navy Band.
The First Lady dressed for the festive occasion and the cold weather in a red check coat which tied at the waist.
Melania wore her hair down and wavy and wore plenty of dark eye make-up and lipgloss.
Donald Trump matched with his wife by wearing a red tie with his white shirt and black suit trousers combination.
The temperature in Washington DC is currently 13 degrees centigrade.
But Melania and Donald were not the only Trumps to make an appearance at the event.
Donald’s daughter Ivanka Trump, 36, her husband Jared Kushner, 36, and their three children Arabella Rose Kushner, 6, Joseph Frederick Kushner, 4, and Theodore James Kushner, 1, also came to watch the Christmas light switch on.
Ivanka also chose a festive theme with her outfit by wearing a double breasted cream coat with black buttons and black piping.
It featured puffed sleeves by the shoulders and she accesorised with a black headband adorned with pearls.
Donald’s second daughter Tiffany Trump, 24, was also in attendance.
