Melania Trump public opinion poll results SOAR – but is she ahead of Donald?

Melania Trump, 47, and Donald Trump, 71, have been First Lady and President of the USA for nearly a year.

Now a new opinion poll has revealed how the couple are faring the eyes of the American public.

Since moving into the The White House in June, Melania has been busy accompanying her husband on foreign tours and hosting events in Washington.

Famed for her glamorous style, she has become one of the most photographed women in the world.

And it seems her approach is working, as she has seen her rating soar in the latest opinion poll.

Fifty-four percent of Americans polled said they viewed the First Lady favourably, up 17 points from January when only 37 percent of Americans viewed her favourably.

But while it was good news for Melania, it was not so positive for Donald, who is viewed unfavourably by a majority of Americans in the poll, with 56 per cent holding a negative view of him.

This is not much of a change for the President since the last poll in January, although it is a big jump up for Melania.

She now finds herself with just 33 per cent of Americans viewing her unfavourably, and 13 per cent saying they have no opinion.

The Gallup survey of 1,049 adults was conducted December 4-11 via landlines and mobile phones with a margin of error of four percentage points.

The opinion poll results come after it was revealed how the Trump’s spend Christmas Day.

The former-model and her husband and 11-year-old son Barron Trump will spend the holidays at the White House in Washington.

Melania told children at the Children’s National hospital in Washington DC how the Trump family celebrate Christmas.

She told visitors at the health facility that the Trump Family enjoy dinner on Christmas Eve.

They then visit midnight Mass or a service on Christmas Day. The family has two religious beliefs to cater for as Melania is Catholic.

The First Lady also revealed what the family eat on the big day, on which food plays a major part for most families.
