Meghan Markle wedding dress designer named? Prince Harry’s fiancé seen having fitting HERE

Meghan Markle, 36, and Prince Harry, 33, will marry next May in Windsor.

Speculation had been mounting over an engagement between the pair for weeks, and they finally confirmed the news on Monday.

Thoughts have now turned to the finer details of the day, including which designer will get to create Meghan’s wedding gown.

And Express.co.uk can now exclusively reveal Meghan has been seen having dress fittings with one high profile designer, heavily implying they will create the dress for the biggest wedding of 2018.

A source revealed to Express.co.uk Meghan has had fittings at Erdem – the British Canadian designer who is currently the frontrunner to design her special dress.

The source revealed “beautiful” Meghan recently went into the Erdem studio for a dress fitting, although they did not elaborate on whether it was for her wedding dress or a gown for another occasion.

The expectation is certainly on Erdem to design the dress, with Ladbrokes placing the odds at 2/1.

This is because of his links to both the UK and Meghan’s adopted home of Canada. He was born in the Commonwealth country in 1976 to a British mother and Turkish father, moving to London to pursue his fashion career in the 90s.

Other high profile clients of his include Kate Middleton, Pippa Middleton, and Michelle Obama, and discussing his designs with Vogue, he said he “never thinks about what’s sexy”, instead focusing on “silhouettes”.

Meghan has famously already worn his designs, attending a wedding in Jamaica with Prince Harry in one of his floral maxi dresses.

Wedding dresses are not something Erdem is known for, and he has previously only made dresses for close friends.

But Meghan called him “a designer I’ve been wearing for years” in her interview with Vanity Fair earlier this year, possibly dropping a heavy hint as to the identity of the person who will make the most important dress she will ever wear.

Other possible contenders to design the dress include the cream of British fashion talent.

Ladbrokes have placed the odds on Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, who created Kate Middleton’s wedding dress, at 10/1.

Victoria Beckham – a brand Meghan has worn during her time on Suits – has odds of 16/1.

Jenny Packham, a favourite of Kate Middleton’s, Giles Deacon and Alice Temperley are all also being considered by fashionistas.
