And the couple have set their sights on properties in Norfolk, with Meghan falling in love with one in particular, according to a source in the Daily Star.
The source revealed Prince Harry’s motivation for buying a large property and said: “Harry has family on his mind more than ever.
“Until now he’s been busy with the Invictus Games, his appointments and his other charity work so his cottage in Kensington Palace has been more than enough for him.
“But with an engagement looming and potentially the patter of tiny feet, Harry is house-hunting big time.”
Explaining what Prince Harry is supposedly looking for, the source continued to the Daily Star: “None of the properties are too big or ostentatious – that’s not his style. But agents have been briefed there needs to be enough land for a polo field. That’s always been his dream.
“He wants a relaxed country pad he can retreat to at weekends to join his wife and kids, entertain his mates and live a normal life.”
Whilst Prince Harry is said to favour Grade II listed 17th Century Twyford Hall near Dereham, Meghan likes the look of Guist Hall, a stylish Georgian manor house.
But she is unlikely to get her way in this decision, as Guist Hall does not have the space for the polo field Prince Harry desires.
Prince Harry is also said to be keen to “put his stamp on the property”, and Twyford Hall needs plenty of upgrading, whereas Guist Hall requires far less work.
Twyford Hall also benefits from plenty of natural woodland which would give the couple plenty of privacy and space to roam away from prying eyes.
Either way, Meghan will be happy, and the source revealed: “Like most Americans, Meghan loves anything quaint.
“She’s blown away by our country’s historical and architectural beauty but, as a stylish woman, she is leaning towards the more sophisticated properties.”
