Meghan Markle: BAFTAs 2018 host Joanna Lumley said THIS about Prince Harry’s fiancee

Meghan Markle, 36, fiancée of Prince Harry, 33, has a successful acting career – so what does BAFTAs 2018 host and fellow actress Joanna Lumley, 71, think of her entering the Royal Family?

Joanna is said to be friends with Prince Charles, 69, and has previously spoken of her admiration for the Royal Family.

So it is not too surprising she is a fan of Meghan, who will be marrying into the royals when she ties the knot with Harry on May 19 2018.

“I think Meghan is enchanting. She has fabulous exotic parentage, is in our business and has been married before; this is fantastic.”

Joanna – who, like Meghan, was divorced in the past from ex husband Jeremy Lloyd – said the marriage reflected “today’s world”.

“This is today’s world. She’s marrying a prince, who is a darling boy and fought for his country. All these things bode well for the future,” she said in an interview with Hello magazine.

Referring to the Royal Family, she called them “courteous and polite”.

“They’re always unbelievably courteous and polite to me. It’s a great honour to have met them.”

It has been announced on the Royal UK website that Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, will attend the BAFTAs.

However, it is unknown whether Meghan and Harry will attend the ceremony also.

What is known, however, is that Joanna Lumley – the first solo female BAFTAs host – will not be wearing black in solidarity with the Time’s Up movement.

She told OK! magazine: “I had to choose how I would look before any of this blew up.”

“I shall be wearing a plain charcoal grey dress that Betty Jackson made for me. I shall look like a head-mistress.”

Will Kate Middleton wear black at the BAFTAs 2018 ceremony this evening?

While Kate attended last year’s BAFTAs wearing an Alexander McQueen black floral print dress, there are a couple of reasons why she may not wear the colour this year.

Firstly, the royal family usually stay away from strong political statements and must remain impartial. But what do you think the other reason is?
