It had been a tough week for Imran as he was given a particularly challenging dish in the professional kitchen which saw him try to create the perfect spiral for his carrot and ginger purée.
As he battled through the service, fans were quick to joke about how all he seemed to be doing was practicing the difficult technique.
One joked on Twitter: “I would so laugh if Imran literally hadn’t done anything else apart from try and make spirals for 4 hours #MasterChefUK.”
Another added: “Imran! Sour out your purée spirals mate #fail #MasterChefUK.”
And Imran’s woes only got worse, as his final dish included raw pastry. However, guest judge Tom Kitchin was on hand to deliver the tough criticism to the hopeful, saying: “The pastry’s not cooked properly, it’s very almondy, the anglaise is too thin.”
John was in agreement with the chef, insisting that the dish “was not good”.
However, Imran still made it through to the next round whilst Shauna, who served a creative poached pear and lavender dish, was sent packing.
Viewers took to Twitter to air their disbelief at the decision with one saying: “I don’t believe it… Shauna? That’s unfair…. #MasterChefUK.”
Another added: “How has Imran gone through with a dish that’s not cooked and Shauna had a messy dish but edible and creative but dismissed? #MasterChef.”
A third agreed: “Imran – time’s up! Shauna made mistakes but an inedible pastry bake well with runny custard #yuk #MasterChefUK #MasterChef.”
MasterChef UK continues tomorrow on BBC at 8:30pm.
