MasterChef UK: John Torode urges Gregg Wallace to 'GO AWAY' amid cheese ice-cream spat

But, it was one strange offering presented to them by Jim that saw them really come to blows on the BBC One programme.

The amateur chef sparked a debate when he served up pear compote with a blue cheese ice-cream, which also left the panel divided.

Chef John, 51, commented: “I really like the heart of that dessert. I love the pear and the crumble underneath, I love the cooling ice-cream… I don’t like the blue cheese.”

Gregg, 52, then responded: “I Like it,” which annoyed his co-star, who jokingly hit back: “Oh, go away! No!”

Despite their spat, Jim made it through to the next round alongside Shauna, 45, Louise, 26, and Brodie, also 26.

While all their efforts were mostly well received, viewers were convinced they had already found the winner in mum, Shauna.

Twitter was inundated with messages saying she was definitely going to go on and triumph after being praised by all.

“Winner #MasterChefUK watch this space! Excellent technique and combination, great cook,” one post read.

Two others agreed: “Just give the trophy to Shauna! She’s brilliant #MasterChefUK,” and: “#MasterChefUK She’s gonna win! I’m saying it now.”

A fourth added: “Shauna is the first properly impressive contestant of #MasterChefUK 2017. What a find. She’ll be in the final, mark my words  #MasterChefUK.”

MasterChef UK continues tomorrow at 8.30pm on BBC One.
