It’s been confirmed that Mass Effect Andromeda DLC will not be accessible through a Season Pass as BioWare decided to forgo it for their latest game.
While we know that the development team are set to fully support Mass Effect Andromeda multiplayer, there are still question mark over how any kind of new solo mission updates will be released.
So far, support has come in the form of multiplayer APEX Missions, ongoing story-based missions that feature new playable characters, weapons and items.
The fourth one of these was launched earlier this week, named APEX Mission 04: Those Alien Artifacts Aren’t for You.
In a new description, the missions is revealed as part of an ongoing effort to farm artifacts, with others experimenting with what they can do.
“The more we salvage, the more the kett seem to come knocking,” the mission message reads.
“The other day, we found an especially shiny haul in a cave that went on forever. Wasn’t too far in before we had to put down nine, maybe ten bots. They took a couple of us with them to robot heaven. But we dragged a fortune of tech out of there. And I’m pretty sure that was just the lobby.
“Ever since then, the kett have put the pressure on us hard.
“I’m starting to think we shouldn’t be messing with this stuff. Like, maybe we’ve found something important. I told the others we should stop. Keep to what we know. They won’t listen… and I’m not gonna stick around to find out what the kett want with this tech… or with us.
“My gang’s last known coordinates are attached. The Remnant stuff they’re sitting on needs to be in Initiative hands, not ours. By the time your team touches down, I’ll be long gone.”
For those wondering what might come next in terms of DLC support, a small story event as the end of the game may have given us our best clue.
SPOILERS: It appears that the Pathfinder will be sent on a new mission to find a missing, thought to be carrying quarians, drell, and hanar.
A transmission from the missing ARK is found at the end of the game, warning its Milky Way allies to stay away.
The message can’t be traced, meaning a new game event will be needed for it to be unlocked, likely a new pathfinder and possible character being added.
