Mass Effect Andromeda DLC hopes end as latest multiplayer missions go live

Having seen BioWare’s latest project take centrestage at E3, it appears time to forget about Mass Effect Andromeda DLC materialising.

Anthem on PS4 and Xbox One is the next big game for the studio, who are still offering new multiplayer APEX missions every week.

The latest comes from Kandros, director of the militia on Heleus, who is having a few problems with The Kett.

“I’m sorry I have to send you out to take on those soulless, ugly, bone-faced, motherless, ignorant bastards once more,” the APEX Mission briefing explains.

“In all my career, I’ve never encountered an enemy more despicable than the kett and their genocide disguised as reproduction.

“Firebase Aqua—recently recaptured from the Roekaar—has been taken by the kett. Hideous grey cowards. Walking filth. We need you to get in there and do as much damage as you can—reduce their numbers, sabotage, mess their shit up.

“You can do it. Have fun. Show those stupid, pompous bastards what good ol’ evolution can do. Show them that integrity and decency is powerful and that it can kick ass.”

At this time, It’s not clear just how long the limited-time missions that earn valuable Mission Funds to spend on powerful equipment and items will be kept going.

Players can team up with friends or choose to send out their APEX strike teams to grab the loot.

And it looks like the last major content that will be coming to the game, following the EA Play no show earlier this month.

The latest on the situation is that there are still people working from BioWare Montreal on multiplayer support and patches for Mass Effect Andromeda.

But there is reportedly no team dedicated to bringing new Mass Effect Andromeda DLC to the game.

Apparently, there are others still at Montreal who are likely working on Anthem, which looks set to be a massive new IP for EA.

The E3 trailer showed a vast, dangerous and futuristic sci-fi world where players take control of exosuit wielding warriors.

Players use these jet-pack powered exosuits to fly around the lush, green world of Anthem, where huge, fearsome monsters lurk.

The E3 2017 trailer for Anthem, which will have a release date in autumn 2018, began in a first person view before switching to third person.
