Mass Effect Andromeda 1.07: BioWare release new patch following major Multiplayer update

The new Mass Effect Andromeda 1.07 patch was released earlier this week, although BioWare’s latest update doesn’t appear to have made any serious changes to the game.

That’s because the new Mass Effect Andromeda update has been confirmed as just a hotfix, focused on removing a small list of serious bugs on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Mass Effect producer Michael Gamble confirmed as much on Twitter, telling fans the main things that had been changed.

“It’s just a hotfix. 3 notable fixes,” he wrote.

“Athletic outfit available mid-playthrough, fixed a crash with the SOS quest. Fixed >1080p UI placement.”

Gamble also had some advice for fans on PC, who maybe having trouble getting access to the new hotfix update.

“On PC, if you’re having issues launching post hotfix, try Go offline in Origin, launch game, then go online. Also, restart Origin,” he added.

After downloading the new Mass Effect Andromeda update on PS4, the only added information reads as follows: “Various bug fixes and stability improvements.”

The new ME: Andromeda patch makes a lot less changes to the game than the previous 1.06 deployment, which looked to seriously rebalance gameplay both in single-player and online.

BioWare revealed base damage of powers had been increased, while bonuses had also been granted additional skill points and the passive skill tree had also seen a boost.

This is due to Powers becoming a lot less effective in later stages, although the development team didn’t stopped with that.

Mass Effect Andromeda multiplayer has also seen a big base damage boost for several underperforming assault rifles, pistols, and shotguns to make them more effective.

It follows news that Mass Effect Andromeda DLC might be the last we see of the franchise on PS4 and Xbox One.

Following middling Mass Effect Andromeda review scores and negative feedback, reports have emerged that BioWare Montreal has been downsized and that future Mass Effect games have been put on hold.

BioWare Montreal will instead be used as a support studios for EA projects like Star Wars Battlefront 2, according to Kotaku.

The remaining members of staff will reportedly continue to work on patches and multiplayer DLC updates.

BioWare’s Yanick Roy confirmed that members of the team will work with EA’s Motive studio.

“Our teams at BioWare and across EA put in tremendous effort bringing Mass Effect Andromeda to players around the world,” Roy explained.

“Even as BioWare continues to focus on the Mass Effect Andromeda community and live service, we are constantly looking at how we’re prepared for the next experiences we will create.”
