Before his money-saving segment on the ITV show where he was set to discuss how to save pounds for Christmas, Martin was seen tucking into the festive treat.
While the 45-year-old had a bite of pie, Phillip told viewers: “If you’re wondering where on earth you can even buy mince pies from at this time a year…
“I’ve actually just found out that they were in the cupboard from last year,” confessed the 55-year-old host.
Having just finished his pie, Martin was completely shocked by the revelation while Holly Willoughby was in hysterics.
Meanwhile, viewers were not as amused by the segment, fearing that September was too early to be talking about Christmas.
One wrote on Twitter: “Nooooo, don’t talk to me about Christmas!!!”
Another added: “Christmas!! Come on This Morning we don’t start on Christmas until Halloween is done! There’s rules man!!”
A third said: “Whoever is thinking about xmas now is mad let’s get Halloween and Bonfire out the way This Morning too early (sic).”
