The brand new series of Married at First Sight starts tonight (March 20) on Channel 4 at 9pm. This year over 7000 people contacted Married at First Sight – keen to permanently change their relationship status from ‘single’ to ‘married’. The opening episode will see two couples walk down the aisle.
Who are the contestants on Married at First Sight 2019?
Jonathan, 39, Property Manager, Bristol
Jonathan describes himself as: “Adventurous, active and likes to try new things.”
He is looking for someone “active and outdoorsy, who is kind, and shares the same outlook on life as him”.
According to Channel 4: “Jonathan is looking for a new spark in life. He’s an active guy, runs every day, visits the gym and does yoga twice a week.
“He has travelled extensively and would love a future partner who would equally enjoy his adventures.”
Steph, 28, Nurse, Somerset
Steph describes herself as: “Laid back, funny, doesn’t hold a grudge and likes to go with the flow.”
She is looking for someone “all and dark, who likes cats, is equally laid back, funny, kind and logical”.
According to Channel 4: “Steph doesn’t need grand romantic gestures – but wants to find someone who is ready to make a commitment.
“It’s important for them to be honest with each other about what they want.”
Verity, 28, Office Manager, London
Verity describes herself as: “Very sociable”.
She is looking for a “witty guy who is humble and emotionally honest and open. He must also share a desire to settle and build a home and enjoy, and have an interest in music”.
According to Channel 4: “Originally from Norfolk, Verity’s main ambition in life now, is to marry someone.
“Within in the next five years, she would like to be happy and settled with a partner, and for them to own a home together.”
Jack, 25, IT Consultant, London
Jack describes himself as: “Extremely outgoing, bubbly and a bit of a joker.”
He is looking for a “petite girl who is active, caring and open to new experiences, who shares the same family values as him”.
According to Channel 4: “Originally from Brighton, family is everything to Jack; his parents’ forty year marriage inspires him to have that same close knit family of his own – his mum is desperate for him to find love and looks forward to becoming a grandmother.
“Jack would love to be matched with someone he can make feel special and who can make him smile.”
