Lucifer season 6 theories: Lucifer Morningstar’s downfall ‘sealed’ by sister’s arrival

After the eventual release of Lucifer season five, part two, the wildly successful urban fantasy series will be returning to Netflix for one last time. Season six has confirmed Deadpool star Brianna Hildebrand will be joining the cast, and some viewers think she could be portraying the crime-solving devil’s most formidable foe yet.

Newcomer for Lucifer season six Brianna Hildebrand could be joining the final instalment as a new nemesis for Lucifer Morningstar (played by Tom Ellis).

Fans are still waiting to see the part-time sleuth and nightclub owner take down his twin brother Michael and reconcile with his dad God (Dennis Haysbert) in the second half of season five.

However, following Netflix’s surprise announcement that the series would be returning for one last outing, the devil could be in need of one more dastardly villain to face-off against in his final adventures.

Reports claim Hildebrand will be portraying a ‘rebellious angel’ named Rory who looks up to Lucifer when she first appears on Earth.

But, after taking a look at the new life the reformed archangel has built for himself with Chloe Decker (Lauren German) and his other mortal friends, Hildebrand’s character may decide to finish what Lucifer started.

The Marvel star will also join Alias’s Merrin Dungey as a new face in the Los Angeles Police Department.

Official character descriptions said: “[Rory will] realize Lucifer isn’t exactly the devilish big bro she hoped he’d be.

“While Dungey will be playing a no-nonsense uniform cop named Sonya, who will form an unlikely bond with Amenadiel.”

“Spoilers ahead – supposedly, she will be playing a ‘Sister Angel’, who is following in Lucifer’s footsteps, attempting to start her own rebellion/war.”

Lucifer has already faced off against a number of his angelic siblings, including his brother Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside), who originally served as an antagonist in earlier instalments.

Archangel Michael also came the closest to sabotaging Lucifer’s life in the first episodes of season five, and he has also clashed against the likes of Uriel (Michael Imperioli) and Remiel (Vinessa Vidotto).

The breakout star’s best known role is as the heroic Negasonic Teenage Warhead, an ally of the fourth wall-breaking mercenary Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds).

Even so, the mutant’s hot-headed and angsty demeanour would translate perfectly to the Netflix series as a younger foil for Lucifer, who may attempt to reignite his failed war against Heaven.

Hildebrand and Dungey remain the only new cast members to be confirmed for season six, so fans will certainly have their eyes on Rory when the last season finally hits screens.

Until then, it’s still unclear how long Lucifer’s devious twin brother Michael will be sticking around, and fans aren’t ruling out his neglectful dad God as a potential rival in season five, part two and beyond.

Lucifer Season 5, Part 1 is available to stream on Netflix.
