Lucifer Morningstar actor Tom Ellis was ecstatic when he announced the fifth and final season of the show on Netflix late last year. The actor could be seen screaming and jumping with joy, before smirking at the camera and adding: “See you in Hell.” Since then, however, fans have been speculating over whether there would be a sixth season after season four did so well.
Many rumours have come and gone, but none of which have been backed up with much evidence.
Until now, that is, as one of the Lucifer’s cast members seem to have dropped the news early.
Lucifer viewers have an eye for detail and have recently been keeping an eye on the show’s cast for any new announcements about this year’s new season.
And recently, Reddit user vmstewart posted a live Twitter video of Dr Linda Martin actor Rachael Elaine Harris speaking to fans in a live Q&A.

In the clip, Rachael nonchalantly says: “We have Lucifer season five, and we’re getting ready to do season six.”
This seems to be her real opinion, as Rachael wasn’t joking around with fans, nor was she attempting to make wild claims at the fans’ expense.
One viewer commented: “Dr Linda casually announcing Season 6 on live..?! This fandom really gets put on a rollercoaster ride!”
Another joked: “Linda: whoops.”
Meanwhile, one of the show’s assistant directors recently spoke out about season six as well, lending more evidence towards the potential of a new outing for the devil.
The director on the show – Katrina Gould – posted a photo of herself next to Lucifer actor Tom, who was dressed in his classic blue suit costume.
She captioned the image with a suspicious comment, saying: “It’s a bummer the world has gone crazy and we couldn’t end it the way it should’ve been ended, but there is always next season!”
The director added a winking emoji to the end of the comment, which may mean she was joking about the sixth season, but viewers were certainly convinced by her comments.
One fan commented on the image, saying: “Once all the mayhem has settled & the world is safe again, on with season 6 then!”
With Lucifer stuck in Hell at the end of season four, season five will surely focus on getting him back to Earth.
But with season six now apparently now on the horizon, what otherworldly events would force the demon back onto the streets of Los Angeles?
Lucifer season 4 is currently available to stream on Netflix.
