ITV2 series Love Island has certainly had a tumultuous week after the fallout from Casa Amor with hearts broken and couples splitting up. In the fallout, Amber Gill and Michael Griffiths spilt up after he chose to recouple with Joanna Chimonides. Amy Hart and Curtis Pritchard were also on the rocks after he admitted his head had been turned by new girl Jourdan Riane.
However, after Jourdan expressed an interest in Danny Williams, Curtis decided to stick with Amy and not try to recouple – and told the air hostess the truth.
Curtis’ admission left Amy heartbroken and she confronted him last night (Thursday, July 5) as they tearfully appeared to split.
There have now been reports in the Mirror that Amy has been taken out of the villa for some time out.
According to sources, Amy will be returning to the show and just needs a breather.
Has Amy Hart left Love Island?
An ITV spokesman told Express.co.uk that Amy had not left Love Island.
They went on to say: “We take the emotional well-being of all the Islanders extremely seriously.
“We have dedicated welfare producers and psychological support on hand at all times who monitor and regularly speak to all of the Islanders in private and off camera, especially if someone appears to be upset.
“All the Islanders are therefore fully supported by the professionals on site and by their friends in the villa.
“This means Islanders are always able to reach out and talk to someone if they feel the need. We will of course continue to monitor all of our Islanders in line with our robust protocols.
“Love Island holds a mirror up to relationships and all the different dynamics that go with them.”
The reports come after Amy decided to speak to Curtis about what happened while she was in Casa Amor including his kiss and conversations with Jourdan.
During the discussion last night, Amy said: “I feel like I was an acceptable placeholder until you found someone better.
“You did but then she [Jourdan] coupled up with Danny so you came back to your back-up plan.”
She continued as he just listened: “I don’t think you actually fancy me.
“You’re having meaningful snogs with other girls when I’m not here. How is that OK?”
“For me, absence made the heart grow stronger. For you, it was out of sight, out of mind.”
Curtis denied it, saying: “That’s not true.”
But Amy was not impressed and told him: “You knew this would break my heart and you still did it.”
The ballroom dancer tried to defend himself, saying: “I always say you’re fantastic. I always say you’re amazing. I always say you have the most talents in this villa.”
She hit back: “Exactly. That is what I held on to at Casa Amor and you still went behind my back and got with someone else.”
In the end, Curtis admitted there was no guarantee his head wouldn’t be turned and Amy walking off before calling him a “liar”.
