Loose Women viewers slate Janet Street-Porter as she hits out at 'smarmy' Boris Johnson

The moment came as the former I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! contestant appeared as a guest on ITV‘s Loose Women to discuss his new book.

Host Andrea McLean acknowledged Janet, 72, hadn’t spoken kindly of him while he was in the jungle and addressed the feud first off.

Stanley confessed: “I don’t think I was Janet’s favourite when I came back.

He then turned to Janet and gushed: “But you’re one of my favourites.”

However, it was clear Janet didn’t take kindly to the compliment.

She exclaimed: “Don’t butter me up!

“That’s exactly what your son Boris does, he’s smarmy.”

Moments later, the conversation turned to politics and Boris, where Janet hit out again.

She exclaimed: “His son is our Foreign Secretary putting his foot in it on a daily basis!”

However, Stanley was quick to laugh it off: “I came out of the jungle and said ‘is my son still Foreign Secretary?’.”

He continued: “He’s doing a great job.”

Some of those watching at home didn’t like Janet’s swipe at the 77-year-old and took to Twitter to comment.

“#LooseWomen No excuse for Janet to be so rude,” one wrote.

Another declared: “#LooseWomen Janet don’t be rude.”

“@janet_cutts @loosewomen Lovely Stanley Johnson back off Janet Street Porter he is also an environmentalist,” a third added.

Last week Janet was criticised by viewers after they accused her of “body-shaming” fellow panellist Linda Robson.

Linda showed off her glamorous holiday swimsuit snaps following her recent weight loss, but Janet had a criticism to make.

Janet said: “Yes, you look lovely, but not in that particular picture.

“The other picture where you’re standing up, can you give your son a few lessons on how to take a decent photo?”

Fans were not pleased with Janet’s comments, accusing her of “chipping away” at Linda’s body confidence.

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
