Line of Duty season 4 finale: New trailer teases Roz Huntley’s DEATH in gun showdown

In the 20-second teaser, Roz (played by Thandie Newton) is seen turning up at AC-12’s headquarters to confront them over their continued investigation into her handling of the Michael Farmer (Scott Reid) case.

“He sent you, didn’t he?” Steve Arnott (Martin Compston) says to Roz when she arrives unexpectedly at the unit’s offices.

Fellow AC-12 officer Kate Fleming (Vicky McClure) can be seen hiding behind a wall with a group of officers as heavily armed police surround the building, suggesting that a fire fight is on the cards as well as a showdown.

To further compound the theory that Roz is set to go down in a hail of bullets, Steve warns her: “You walk out of here, you’re a dead woman.”

As the trailer reaches its climax it appears that the head of AC-12 fires a gun at someone, implying it’s game over for Roz after weeks of evading justice.

Along with hints that Roz is going to bite the bullet quite literally, the trailer seems to suggest it’s not quite over for anti-corruption unit AC-12, who are on the brink of being shut down by Derek Hilton (Paul Higgins).

AC-12’s boss Ted Hastings (Adrian Dunbar) tells his team: “This is the final push. We cannot fail,” as he encourages them to work tirelessly to make sure Roz goes down for her dodgy dealings and tampering with evidence.

Meanwhile, her downtrodden husband Nick (Lee Ingleby) is heard protesting his innocence following his arrest.

During a heated police interrogation, the solicitor is heard yelling at the questioning officers: “This is all Roz! She’s trying to frame me!”

In a separate clip from the BBC, showing more of Nick’s questioning by the police, the lawyer is seen tying himself into knots as he tries to defend himself.

The footage also shows the return of Steve’s now presumably ex-girlfriend Samantha (Aiysha Hart), who is one of the police officers questioning Nick.

Line of Duty has been gripping the nation for the past five weeks and this Sunday will reach its climax, however fans should not despair as the show is set to be returning next year with season five.

Line of Duty concludes on BBC One this Sunday at 9pm.
