Lidl Allini Prosecco is causing a stir on the internet as the bargain supermarket announced it will be selling cases for just £20.
That works out at £3.33 a bottle – which has gone down extremely well on social media.
Allini Prosecco from Veneto, Italy, is usually sold for £ 5.79.
If customers manage to grab the case offer next weekend they will be saving a whopping £11.50 off the normal price.
The cut-price prosecco has a rating of 85 out of 100 in Lidl’s customer rating system.
The one-off deal will only be available from August 26 to 27.
Facebook page Prosecco Watch told its followers yesterday: “Deal Alert Lidl UK *****NEXT WEEKEND*****
“Super weekend deal on 26/27 August – 20% off a case! That’s £3.33 a bottle!!!
“Giving you fair warning as it’s next weekend but worth the heads up now!!”
The post has since had 32,000 comments and a whopping 21k shares online.
Cremant is the new cool fizz for summer according to supermarket giant Lidl.
The supermarket has seen its £7.99 Crémant de Bourgogne Blanc won the prestigious International Wine and Spirits Competition’s (IWSC) ‘Silver Outstanding’ accolade this year.
Latest figures from leading drinks body the Wine and Spirit Trade Association show UK fizz sales grew 12 per cent last year to around 156 million bottles.
Professionals in the alcohol industry reckon Crémant could soon rival top tipple Prosecco as the next big bubble for Brits as we drink more and more of the sparkling stuff.
