Performed to over 70 million people in four different countries, Les Miserables, is the world’s longest-running musical.
In fact the show has been performed continuously in London’s West End since October 1985.
Now Les Miserables is setting off on a UK tour from late 2018 to early 2019.
But this time it will be the new version created in 2009 for the 25th anniversary.
The show’s producer Cameron Mackintosh said: “[The new version has] taken the world by – more than matching the success of the original, which can now only be seen in London.”
The UK tour will begin at Curve Leicester this November, before heading to Dublin, Edinburgh and Manchester.
The list of dates and venues are as follows:
November 3 – 24 2018 – Curve Leicester
December 5 – January 22, 2019 – Bord Gais Energy Theatre, Dublin
January 22 – February 16, 2019 – Festival Theatre’s Edinburgh
February 19 – March 30, 2019 – Manchester Palace Theatre
The 25th anniversary version of Les Miserables is also said to have inspired Hugh Jackman’s 2012 film version
Tickets will go on sale later in 2018.
