Woody (played by Lee Ryan) has been teased as having an upcoming “argey-bargey” with Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) when he returns to the soap in the next few months.
Appearing on This Morning to discuss the upcoming scenes, Lee told hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford that he had wanted to work with Danny for years.
“[Danny’s] a lad. I love Danny – he’s great – and we have some great scenes,” he said.
“I can’t say too much but when he came back we filmed some great scenes,” the 33-year-old teased.
Lee also explained that he was in awe of Danny’s working methods, saying that the Queen Vic Landlord said: “He came in and said, ‘Bosh that and bosh that, and we’ll get on with it’.”
The Blue singer also gave more details about the mysterious Woody, telling Ruth and Eamonn that he isn’t a “bad boy”.
He teased: “[Woody’s] not really a bad boy, he’s more sensitive. You’ll see as it carries on with his journey he just wants to be liked.
“He turns up and he’s not liked. Shirley’s not having any of it, she doesn’t want to accept him,” Lee added.
Lee also explained that he “had no fingernails left” as he watched his debut last night, revealing that he was “so nervous” about how his character would be liked.
He need not have worried as his portrayal of Woody has gained plenty of praise from soap fans.
“I don’t go online to look but people were sending me snaps of what people were saying and some articles were really positive,” Lee said of the feedback.
EastEnders continues tomorrow on BBC at 7.30pm.
