Kate Middleton, 36, stepped out in a daring red and white houndstooth check coat while on a tour of Sweden yesterday.
The Duchess of Cambridge, who is pregnant with her third child, was joined by her husband Prince William, 35, for a busy day with the Swedish royal family.
And Kate took the opportunity to make a statement with her Catherine Walker coat.
The coat was an echo of a jacket worn by the late Diana, Princess of Wales, in 1990.
While Kate wore a full coat, Diana’s houndstooth item was a jacket, with a contrasting black and white houndstooth pencil skirt.
She wore the striking outfit while at Sandringham with Prince William seven years before her death in 1997.
Diana paired her outfit with a bold red and black hat and leather court shoes.
Kate, meanwhile, let the coat speak for itself, going bare on her head and choosing plain burgundy Chanel accessories.
Both women did wear pearl drop earrings to complete their outfits.
Kate has paid tribute to the mother-in-law she never got to meet many times before.
One of the most photographed women in the world today, Kate has made sure to look her best while on this latest royal tour.
Last night, she chose a blue floral Erdem dress for a reception where she met some of Sweden’s finest talent.
This was the second Erdem gown she wore during her first two days on tour, as she wore a floral floral-print silk crepe de Chine item on Tuesday.
Erdem is a Canadian-born designer recently also worn by Prince Harry’s fiancee Meghan Markle.
He is currently the front runner to design Meghan’s wedding dress.
Kate is a big fan of Erdem, especially on royal tours, and she first wore the label during the royal tour of Canada in 2011.
