John Lewis’ Christmas advert is set to attract millions of viewers from around the world.
For many it’s a marker of the festive season and, with the impressively cold weather, the start of Christmas.
This year the story is about a monster named Moz who lives under the bed – playing into the hands of everyone’s childhood nightmares.
As usual, John Lewis has releases a bunch of Moz themed products for people to buy on its website and in store.
But if previous year’s are anything to go by, you’ll have to be quick, as it’s likely they’ll sell out fast.
Here’s what’s on offer:
- A cuddly Moz toy – £20
- A Moz the Monster book – £8.99
- A Moz the Monster mug – £5
- Red pyjamas for 2-6 year olds – £18
- Red pyjamas for 7-10 year olds – £20
- Blue pyjamas for 2-6 year olds – £18
- Blue pyjamas for 7-10 year olds – £20
- Slippers – £14 to £24 (available in children’s size 10 up to an adult size 6)
A portion of the sales from the cuddly toys will go to Barnado’s.
John Lewis released a teaser clip earlier this week from the advert to a YouTube account set up specifically for the advert: @UnderTheBed2017
On the clip the hashtag #UnderTheBed flashes up; viewers only get to see the googly eyes of the monster.
But it would seem the toy’s cover was blown when staff unwittingly put the toy out for sale at a central London store.
The Sun published a tweet from a ‘city worker’ saying: “I’ve seen the #underthebed hashtag and trailers. I thought it had to be character from the adverts.
“When I went in to the same shop later the monsters had been completely removed from sale.
“I had a little chuckle to myself because I realised someone must have made a big mistake.”
Another person tweeted the picture, saying: “Awwwww here’s what’s lurking #UnderTheBed toll on tomorrow when the advert is shown.”
Last year’s clip, which featured a trampoline-loving dog, was shared online before premiering on ITV during the thriller Paranoid.
