Jennifer Lawrence ‘THREW UP’ watching 1984's torture scene and star ‘COLLAPSED on stage'

The production of George Orwell’s iconic dystopian tale is currently on its Broadway run.

Sturridge reportedly collapsed during 1984’s torture scene over the weekend due to dehydration and had to be taken out on a stretcher.

The New York Post’s source said: “Tom seemed a little out of it as the end of the play neared – but he kept going. When the curtain was brought down, the cast didn’t come out for bows.

“[Instead] there was an announcement asking if there was a doctor in the house.”

Paramedics are said to have been seen entering the theatre, while Sturridge managed to return for two more performances over the weekend.

The source added: “His co-stars Olivia Wilde and Reed Birney, and other castmates, made sure there was a lot of water backstage.”

The news of Sturridge’s collapse comes a week after Oscar-winner Lawrence had to leave her seat in the audience to vomit.

At first it was thought the reason was because of the graphic torture scene, , however a friend of the 26-year-old star confirmed she had stomach flu.

Olivia Wilde, who also stars in 1984, later tweeted: “As long as I have a play, Jennifer Lawrence has a place to puke. #honored #getwellsoon #iloveyou #1984onBarfway #spewbagsnotincluded.

According to Daily Mail, the torture scene in question sees Sturridge’s Winston Smith electrocuted causing bleeding.

The 31-year-old actor is said to lock eyes with audiences members in the distressing scene.
