James Bond EXCLUSIVE: Tom Hiddleston for 007? Kong Skull Island director speaks out

The British star is currently 7/1 to play the next , but does he have what it takes?

Hiddleston first came to 007 fans’ attention when he starred in BBC spy drama, The Night Manager.

His latest film, Kong: Skull Island, sees the actor take on a leading action role, which could be seen as an indirect Bond audition.

Express.co.uk spoke with director Jordan Vogt-Roberts and producer Alex Garcia on the red carpet of the premiere, to find out if they think he has what it takes to take over from Daniel Craig.

Interestingly both Hollywood men had very similar things to say in separate interviews.

The producer said: “He’s an incredible actor, so of course… I mean he can do anything.”

While the director added: “Ha! Tom Hiddleston for everything!”

But isn’t his wide ranging talent a reason for him not to be the iconic agent?

We certainly think so in

In the new monster movie Hiddleston stars as James Conrad, a former British officer who served in the Vietnam War.

Kong: Skull Island is released in UK cinemas on March 9, 2017.
