Ivanka Trump, 36, has followed in the footsteps of her father Donald Trump, 71, President of the US, on Twitter.
The First Daughter, who works for her father as a White House advisor, normally maintains a business like approach to Twitter, save for occasional posts about her children.
However, she has broken the trend with three successive tweets aims at internet “trolls”, which seem inspired by Donald’s own bold Twitter style.
Ivanka defended herself against comments she had previously received from trolls, launching into a Twitter rant.
She wrote: “If thou workest at what is before thee, following right reason seriously, vigorously, calmly, without allowing anything to distract thee…”
A second tweet read: “If thou holdest to this, expecting nothing, fearing nothing, but satisfied with thy present activity according to nature… thou wilt live happy.
“And there is no man who will be able to prevent this.” -Marcus Aurelius, Meditations.”
Her third and final tweet read: “3:3 Focus on what is before you, on what you can control and ignore the trolls! Have a great week!”.
A troll, according to the Merriam Webster dictionary, will “antagonise (others) online by deliberately posting inflammatory, irrelevant, or offensive comments or other disruptive content”.
Predictably, she received some backlash for the tweets, with one user writing: “Is that how you cope with the legitimate challenges to the terrible damage that you and your family wreak on a daily basis?”.
However, others supported her courageous tweet, with one writing: “This is wonderful advice. You are an intelligent lady, Ivanka. I also hope you have an incredible week!”.
So what prompted the rant? Donald Trump’s daughter has faced online criticism after Ivanka posted a photograph of herself with her son Theodore yesterday.
The post was judged ill-advised by some followers, who criticised her for the timing amid reports the US government has lost track of 1,500 immigrant children from the Mexican border.
Ivanka recently wore white to open the historic American embassy in Jerusalem, Israel.
Donald Trump made the surprise decision to open an embassy in Israel this year, going against decades of precedent set by former American Presidents.
The UK Prime Minister Theresa May has described Donald’s decision as “unhelpful in terms of prospects for peace in the region”.
However many are thrilled, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu praising America as Israel’s “closest ally”.
Despite the embassy being Donald’s idea, it was his daughter Ivanka who represented the USA at the event.
The mum-of-three wore an ethereal cream dress for the occasion. The dress came down past her knees, with the soft material floating in the breeze.
She paired this with a business-like pinstripe beige blazer to ensure her overall look was professional. A pair of beige pointed-toe stilletto shoes completed the look.
