Ben Shepherd and Charlotte Hawkins had their work cut out for them on Good Morning Britain this morning as Monty Python star John Cleese spoke about leaving the UK.
Upon appearing for his interview John said: “Well I’m going to buzz off in November.”
Revealing he doesn’t like “the corruption in the country” and disagreed with the newspapers.
He went on to explain that the European Broadcasting Union held a poll on the level of trust in media.
John said: “England came bottom – not very low, bottom.”
But as Ben jumped in to counter his point, John raised his hand and snapped at the presenter.
He yelped: “Now hang on a second – this happened not just once, but four years in a row.”
Eventually Ben managed to say the information should be readily available, to which John concurred: “Yes of course.”
John later went on to discuss Brexit, and his opinions on leaving the country.
Upon being asked about the subject, he explained: “I don’t think anybody has the slightest idea what’s going to happen after Brexit.
“I’m one of those people who doesn’t particularly think the EU is a good thing, but whether we should be in or out I’ve no idea because I’ve no idea what the consequences are.”
Despite this, John added that he wouldn’t jump at the chance of moving to America.
He continued: “Oh no. I wouldn’t go to America at the moment.
“The first time that Trump has ever spoken to an intelligent audience that wasn’t dependent on his patronage was at the United Nations General Assembly two or three days ago when they laughed at him.”
Eventually speaking once again about leaving the UK, he revealed he didn’t want to go through a British winter again, saying: “I’m going to go to Nevis.
“Once you get to about 50 you don’t have the energy to drag yourself through another English winter.
“I’m going basically to the sun, I’m also going to be closer to America where most of my work is at the moment.”
Earlier on in the show Richard Arnold had a blunder of his own, as he showed off a clip of A Star Is Born.
As an image was supposed to appear on screen, Richard showed off a black screen which showed off a “file not found” text.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
