ITV Good Morning Britain: India Willoughby makes BIZARRE Brexit comparison to Adolf Hitler

Former Celebrity Big Brother contestant India, 51, joined the Good Morning Britain debate with Tom Church, who revealed he was stockpiling food for Brexit in anticipation of there being problems with the food trucks at British ports.

India was completely flabbergasted by her debate partner’s thought process on preparing for the worst, as she stated how the ports have said the food trucks are going to be “flowing as normal”.

But when Tom held fast to his determination to make sure he had enough “Chicken Korma” ingredients in his cupboards on March 30th, the day after Britain officially leaves the European Union, India proceeded to call him bonkers.

She then used the example of German dictator and leader of the Nazi Party Hitler’s actions during the Second World War, stating Britain has faced worse prospects in modern history than running out of their favourite foods on the ITV show.

Explaining his reasons, Tom said: “Yeah so I’ve started stockpiling for Brexit, lots of food for about a month. I’ve got bags, lots of things in the cupboards, filling it up, because I’m worried that in the immediate aftermath of Brexit – so March 29th – that there will be problems with our truck drivers basically.

“Extra checks, that will delay trucks, and that has a real impact on our ‘just in time’ supply chain across the country.”

“India it doesn’t sound like such an outlandish decision, we can buy a Brexit box now for £295 that will serve you for a month,” presenter Ben, 41, offered.

But the journalist was utterly bemused by the prospect, saying: “God are we going to Pluto? I mean look at it, it looks like something you would feed your plant.

“I would rather eat a remainer, I think it would be more nourishing. I mean really let’s just cut to the chase here, if you think a Brexit baked bean brocade is going to bring it to the brink you are bonkers!”

“Stock up on some tin foil! The port has said the trucks are going to be flowing as normal, the Mayor of Calais said it’s business as normal too. Where are all these stories coming from?” she exclaimed.

The transgender activist continued in frustration, as she suddenly declared: “Hitler was sinking our ships!”

“[So I just think] the British are better than that.”

The rest of the studio were taken-aback by her comparison, but Tom quickly agreed.

“India I get what you’re saying, you’re saying we survived the war is what you’re saying, so we can survive this [and not run out of food].

“But how did we do that? Food rationing,” the guest declared with a flourish.

Laughing, India finally said: “Come March 29th, I’m going to go into my local supermarket, spend an hour there, pick all of my favourite foods, and then I’m going to have a big dinner celebrating Brexit!”

Unimpressed with the direction the discussion had taken, viewers took to Twitter to share their views.

One person wrote: “What the hell does Hitler have to do with Brexit?! #GMB”

“Why is she going on about Hitler? #gmb,” another asked.

A third raged: “#gmb ffs. Who the F is India Willoughby. Pulling the Hitler card so early. Brexit IS a con. Don’t believe the hype stupid person.”

While a fourth countered the argument, agreeing with Tom: “I’ve built a bombproof cellar. I’ve got enough food and water for six months. There is an electric fence around the garden and there are guard dogs roaming the property. I will then eat the dogs when the food runs out! You b******s won’t catch me out! #gmb.”

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
