Artist Abigail Ekue creates candid and conversational portrait series. Her celebrated Bare Men project is a response to the lack of full-frontal male nudity in art and beyond. In Ekue’s latest series SHE Rides, the artist channels her admiration for riders of all ilk, including motorcyclists, cowboys, racers, and equestrians, into an inspiring, women-empowered set of portraits. In SHE Rides, which features women motorcyclists in Tucson, Atlanta, Las Vegas, and New York, Ekue captures the bond between the rider and her bike — a deeply personal relationship that is unique to every women. The images feature women from all walks of life, different races, sizes, ages, and personalities, united by a passion for riding and the open road.
