Injustice 2 Red Hood DLC news and staggered release confirmed with multiverse

Injustice 2 Red Hood fans will see the new character released on June 13, although with a catch.

That’s because the resurrected Jason Todd will be made available to those who bought the Deluxe, Ultimate, or Fighter packs first.

Everyone else will have to wait until the following week before they get to try out the new character.

For those who are interested in trying before they buy, a Red Hood Multiverse is being arranged for Injustice 2.

Details for future DLC were also confirmed, including that the same multiverse treatment will be extended to all other characters being primed for release.

Other DLC news includes the fact that Red Hood will not be available to play at CEO 2017, due to their being a 30-day limit in place before a new character can be deployed.

As earlier leaks have confirmed, Red Hood’s super move involves drop-kicking the opponent onto a mine, which is followed by a hail of bullet, a sticky grenade placed on the enemies back, followed by another hail of bullets finished with a precise shot to trigger the explosive device.

The Netherrealm team were also asked during the recent livestream whether other characters would be featured.

They confirmed that they would also be part of the Watchtower stream and that Starfire would likely be the next.

“As the next Queen of Tamaran, Princess Koriand’r found herself the victim of her fratricidal sister’s vengeful plot that resulted in their planet being conquered,” the official description of the DC character explains.

“Now a royal exile on Earth, Koriand’r uses her ability to absorb and convert ultraviolet energy as Starfire.”

Starfire is included in the Fighter Pack 1 DLC, which retails for $ 20 and also includes Mortal Kombat’s Sub-Zero.

Neither character has a set release date, although players who splashed out on the Deluxe Edition will get all three fighters early.
