Injustice 2 Atom REVEALED – Justice League hero to follow Raiden and Hellboy DLC

Injustice 2 is getting another character to its roster, with Atom arriving in Fighter Pack 3 after the Raiden and Hellboy DLC is released.

Injustice 2 fans were treated to their first glimpse of Atom using a TV special aired in the US.

The announcement video said Atom will be arriving “soon”, and Comicbook.com have reported a release date will be this December.

Injustice 2 gameplay footage of the fourth Atom, aka Ryan Choi, showcased what his fighting style will be like.

Footage showed Atom changing quickly from a regular, human-sized form to a tiny, atomic size and growing to the size of a small building.

As he changes size, Atom is able to either deliver a flurry of quick attacks in his atomic form or a huge, powerful attack in his biggest form.

While in his atomic form, all opponents can see is a slight blue streak flow across the screen as Atom lands fast, dangerous blows.

The footage doesn’t show Atom’s super move, but we’ll hopefully get a glimpse of it ahead of the big DLC launching later this year.

Atom was one of he first superheroes of the Silver Age of comic books and made his debut back in 1961.

He has been a member of several incarnations of the Justice League.

Atom will be the first hero in the Injustice 2 Fighter Pack 3 – and the rumours about who else could be involved is VERY exciting.

It’s tipped that Enchantress, following her stint in the Suicide Squad movie, will be in the Injustice 2 Fighter Pack 3.

And the trio of new characters could be rounded off by what’s arguably the biggest DLC addition to the Injustice 2 line-up so far.

It’s rumoured that Rorschach, the iconic anti-hero from Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons seminal Watchmen, could be a DLC character for Injustice 2.

Watchmen is arguably the finest comic ever made, and Rorschach is one of the most memorable characters DC Comics has ever featured.

If the complex, and violent anti-hero made an appearance in Injustice 2 it would surely be hugely popular amongst fans.

Now also seems a good time to introduce a Watchmen character to the Injustice 2 universe.

DC Comics next months are launching Doomsday Clock, a 12-part mini-series where Superman meets Watchmen’s Doctor Manhattan.

It’s also rumoured that Game of Thrones makers HBO are working on a Watchmen series.

Damon Lindelof, producer of Lost and the now finished The Leftovers, teased work on a Watchmen TV series.

On Instagram he posted a picture of a real-life version of a statue that appears in Watchmen alongside the message: “Day One”.

Watchmen was also adapted into a 2009 movie directed by Zack Snyder.

The other character that’s rumoured to feature in the Injustice 2 Fighters Pack 3 is demon hunter John Constantine.

Ahead of the Fighter Pack 3 arriving though, Injustice 2 fans still need to see the rest of the Fighter Pack 2 characters.

If you own the Digital Deluxe or Ultimate Edition, or the Fighter Pack 2 or Ultimate Pack add-on pass, you will be able to play as Raiden now.

Other Injustice 2 fans have to wait till this Sunday to get the Raiden DLC.

After that, will be the final character from Fighter Pack 2 – Hellboy.
