It’s been 10 years since the last Indiana Jones movie, the controversial fourth entry, Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.
Rumours have been circulating for a while, and confirmed by Ford and Spielberg, that Indiana Jones 5 isn’t far off.
The acclaimed filmmaker has a number of projects in the running, including a West Side Story remake.
However, sources have told The Hollywood Reporter that Spielberg plans to shoot Indiana Jones 5 in 2019, for a 2020 release.
This means Ford will be almost 80-years-old when the fifth Indiana Jones movie hits cinemas.
With this in mind, and the fact that the last film was set in 1957, presumably we could see a 1969 setting – the year of the moon landing.
Kingdom of the Crystal Skull had aliens involved, (although a lot of fans disliked this element of the film) so maybe the plot could have something to do with that.
Last year Express.co.uk put the idea to the film’s producer, Frank Marshall.
The producer replied: “[Laughs] “I’ll make sure to talk to David about that.
“David Koepp [who wrote the fourth film] is writing the script and…it’s very secretive.”
Indiana Jones 5 will be released in UK cinemas on July 10, 2020.
