On I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here last night, the first 10 contestants for 2018 went into the jungle on ITV. There had been some rumours YouTube star WillNE would be going into the jungle with them. However, on Friday the vlogger released a video titled “I Faked Going On a Celebrity TV Show And It Actually Worked..” showing how he had faked a leak.
Is WillNE going into the I’m A Celebrity jungle?
The simple answer is no, as the whole thing was a hoax.
In the video, the vlogger claimed he wanted revenge against what he calls “the mainstream media” for their negative reporting.
At the start of the video, he mentions YouTubers such as Logan Paul, who was criticised for filming a dead body, and Joe Sugg, who made the news after making a hand sign on Strictly Come Dancing that had some resemblance to a white supremacist symbol.
He also alludes to PewDiePie, who has made headlines multiple times for his use of racial slurs in videos.
To get revenge, he mocked up a photo of him in the classic I’m A Celebrity garb of red fleece, khaki shirt and trousers and a cowboy hat.
He then created a fake email from an ITV executive which he got a friend to post on their Instagram story.
They then started contacting members of the press including the Lad Bible and Metro.
WillNE and his friends then followed this up with a mass email campaign to publications.
WHO WILL FACE THE MOST BUSHTUCKER TRIALS ON I’M A CELEBRITY?
They then got in touch with social media Instagram site The Bread Batch, who posted the news that WillNE was to appear on I’m A Celebrity.
They have since deleted this post.
This led to the news going viral on social media, with fans of the show expressing their surprise on social media.
From Twitter, the “news” started to get picked up by online showbiz sites.
At this point, the true line-up started to be revealed as celebrities began to arrive in Brisbane airport.
In his video, WillNE claims he was on his way to Heathrow when ITV released the line-up.
He even decided to make his way to the airport anyway to take some photos to continue the hoax.
This lead to OK magazine’s website releasing a story using the photos from the airport.
I’m A Celebrity continues tonight at 9pm on ITV
