Former England Rugby star, Ben Cohen could be about to switch the pitch for the jungle as he becomes the latest name in the rumour mill to star alongside a batch of celebrities.
Reports have suggested that the 38-year-old was approached four years ago but turned town a large offer at the time.
However, amid a “costly divorce” to wife Abby, Ben could be about to make an appearance on the show, according to The Sun.
An I’m A Celeb source revealed: “Ben’s name was straight on the list for this year. He is popular with viewers as his Strictly stint showed, and appeals to sports fans.
“He’s also a gay icon so he ticks a lot of boxes. It looks like the producers might get their man,” the insider added.
After splitting with his wife after his 2013 Strictly Come Dancing stint, Ben coupled up with his dancing partner Kristina Rihanoff, 39, and the pair now have a daughter together.
Ben is not the only name doing the rounds in connection with the upcoming series of I’m A Celebrity, with Rebekah Vardy also in the rumoured line-up.
Former Coronation Street star, Craig Charles could return to the jungle after his 2014 appearance was cut short by a family tragedy.
It is thought that Ant McPartlin will be back to host the show with Declan Donnelly after the 41-year-old recently checked into rehab.
Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Ben Cohen asking for comment.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is expected to return to ITV later this year.
