I'm A Celebrity 2017: Bosses 'ticked off' with Kezia Dugdale – 'She's a massive let down'

It has only been a week since the Scottish politician made a late entrance into the jungle after apparently receiving a large sum to appear on the hit ITV series.

However, producers are apparently “ticked off” with Kezia for making no real impact on the show or sparking a debate with former Conservative MEP Stanley Johnson, 77, who is the father of foreign secretary Boris.

A TV insider told The Sun: “Kezia has been a massive let down since joining the show last week. She hasn’t bonded particularly well with other campmates and doesn’t see herself as part of that showbiz world, she has been acting superior.

“Far from coming out of her shell, she hasn’t broken from her politician mode once or shown a softer side, letting her personality come through,” they added.

On Sunday night’s show, viewers were left disappointed after the former Scottish Labour leader, 36, gave up just seconds into the live Bushtucker Trial.

Kezia was challenged to down a mixture of blended bull penis and liquidised pig and ostrich anus in the form of a shake, but pulled out of the task almost immediately.

Host Ant McPartlin, 42, admitted to being unimpressed by her lack of effort, he said: “I have to say Kez gave up there. She gave up. She didn’t even try. She’s only got herself to blame.”

Even the show’s trials producer, Ben Aston agreed, adding: “We started planning these trials in April. Kez was a bit of a let down. She only had a little sip.”

Prior to jetting to Australia the Aberdeen-born MSP had defended her decision to join the show, saying: “It’s an amazing platform to talk about politics and Labour values.”

However, Kezia has failed to connect with her fellow campmates and has had very little on-screen-time.
