The star is given separate rations to his fellow campmates whenever they are given the food they win after a challenge.
While the celebrities prepare the meat they have been provided with, Amir, who is muslim and therefore only eats halal food, is given something else.
A message shared on Amir’s official Twitter account confirmed to his 2.29 million followers: “Amir is provided with a Halal option whenever the camp win food #TeamAK.”
The boxer is however allowed to eat the creepy crawlies used in the Bushtucker Trials as they are acceptable to consume according to the Muslim faith.
It comes after it the 30-year-old left fans of the ITV series speechless when he asked if there had ever been a female prime minister.
When his fellow campmates reminded him that Theresa May is the current occupant of 10 Downing Street, he sheepishly said: “Don’t tell anyone.”
And yesterday evening, he caught the attention of viewers once more due to his hilarious reaction to Stanley Johnson and Iain Lee’s argument.
He could be seen giggling as the pair continued to use the word “obstinate” leading many to believe he had no idea what it means.
“Amir Khan sitting there thinking what does obstinate mean #ImACeleb,” one viewer shared on Twitter.
While another added: “I would so be Amir sat there between Stanley and Iain #awkward #ImACeleb.”
“Iain calling Stanley obstinate then vice versa, all the time Amir sitting wondering what it means!,” a third tweeted.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! airs weekdays on ITV at 9pm.
