Hyundai Nexo – New 500-mile Fuel Cell EV car revealed at CES 2018

Hyundai revealed Nexo at CES 2018.

Nexo is an that is spearheading the manufacturer’s plans to accelerate the growth of low emissions cars.

It is just one of 18 eco-friendly cars that the brand will bring to market by 2025.

“Hydrogen energy is the key to building a more sustainable society,” said Dr. Woong-chul Yang, Vice Chairman, Hyundai Motor Company.

“Hyundai Motor Company has already taken a lead in hydrogen technology with the introduction of the ix35 Fuel Cell.

“I am so proud to introduce to you our second-generation Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle which is a culmination of our cutting-edge technologies.

The car is a second-generation fuel cell electric vehicle that be available to buy in selected markets across the world by 2018.

It is estimated to have around 500 miles pf range on a single charge which is 134 miles that its predecessor, the ix35.

One feature of this cat is that it will have a cold start capability which will allow it to start in temperatures as cold as -20 Fahrenheit.

This is due to a fuel cell system that warms up faster to increase its performance.

Improvements have also been made to the car’s performance at high altitudes, refuelling times and its efficiency and fuel economy.

It will be built an a new dedicated vehicle architecture.

This allows the car to be lighter, have a better power-to-weight ratio and faster acceleration from 0-60mph than the ix35 fuel cell.

Hyundai also says the car will have a larger cabin space due to the improved fuel cell layout.

The powertrain is also said to be lighter and the hydrogen storage tanks have also bee improved and moved into the back of the car to allow more space.

Drivability has also been improved with 25 per cent peak acceleration increase and 20 per cent faster 0-60mph time and more torque than the ix35 car.

It is powered by a 95kW fuel cell and 40kW battery and paired to a 120kW motor which produces 291 lb.-ft. of torque.

Acceleration from 0-60mph takes 9.5 seconds, so it is hardly speedy but still three seconds faster than the ix35.

Prices for the car are yet to be revealed but will likely be revealed shortly before the car goes on sale later this year.
